Key Points

In Week 34 (August 22–28, 2022), overall activity at SOS Médecins clinics remained stable for both adults and children.

Medical procedures for suspected COVID-19 have declined for the 7th consecutive week: a total of 1,985 procedures (vs. 2,436 in Week 33) were recorded (a 19% decrease in Week 34 vs. a 10% decrease in Week 33). This decline is more pronounced among adults (-20%, or -427 procedures) than among children (-7%, or -22 procedures). These procedures remain in 7th place among the most frequent procedures for adults. At the regional level, SOS Médecins medical procedures for suspected COVID-19 are down in all regions except Pays de la Loire (stable) and Normandy (+7%, or +6 procedures).

Since monitoring began on March 3, 2020, 443,212 medical procedures for suspected COVID-19 have been performed.

Other indicators are mostly stable or declining. A few increases are observed in small to moderate numbers. Among children: an increase in procedures for insect bites (+16%, or +49 procedures among those under 15), trauma among 2- to 14-year-olds (+25%, or +81 procedures), as well as gastroenteritis and diarrhea among children under 2 (respectively +15%, or +37 procedures, and +10%, or +9 procedures); Among adults aged 15–74: an increase in cases of heatstroke, though the number of cases remains low (+173%, or 19 more cases).
