Key Points

In week 42 (October 13–19, 2025), the number of emergency department visits and the number of hospitalizations following a visit remained stable across all age groups.

Digestive indicators were up compared to week 41, mainly among children, with an increase in visits for:

  • vomiting among children under 2 years of age (+12%, or +58 visits), those aged 15–74 (+7%, or +77 visits), and those aged 75 and older (+26%, or +84 visits), reaching levels slightly higher than in previous years;

  • gastroenteritis in children (+12%, or +301 visits);

  • specific abdominal pain in children (+6%, or +108 visits).

Among children, there was an increase in the following indicators, particularly respiratory and infectious ones:

  • bronchiolitis in children under 1 year of age (+8%, or +91 visits);

  • acute bronchitis in children under 2 years of age (+34%, or 31 more cases) and in children aged 2–14 years (+12%, or 17 more cases);

  • influenza/flu-like illness in children under 2 years of age (+33%, or +18 visits);

  • pneumonia in children under 2 years of age (+23%, or +32 visits);

  • conjunctivitis, mainly in children under 2 years of age (+23%, or +35 cases);

  • isolated fever (+11%, or +354 visits).

Among adults, visits for conjunctivitis are also on the rise (+5%, or +22 visits). Among those aged 15–74, there was an increase in visits for cough (+8%, or +62 visits).

Finally, mental health indicators show an increase in visits for suicidal behavior among those aged 45–64 (+26%, or +79 visits).
