Key Points
In Week 09 (February 26–March 3, 2024), emergency department visits and hospitalizations following such visits continued to decline among children under 15 years of age (-6%) and remained stable in other age groups.
The decline in seasonal respiratory indicators continues across all age groups for influenza/flu-like illness (-40%, or -1,788 visits), suspected COVID-19 infection (-18%), and isolated fever (-12%). Visits for acute bronchitis are down only among those over 15 years of age (-8%).
Visits for pneumonia remain significantly higher than in previous seasons and are stable across all age groups.
Among the other indicators monitored, none show any notable change compared to the previous week. Among those under 15, visits for trauma and vomiting are lower than in previous years, while visits for asthma attacks are higher than in previous years.
