Summary

  • Emergency room visits and hospitalizations for all causes remain stable among adults and are slightly down among children (-2.8% in visits and -6% in hospitalizations).

  • Among seasonal conditions, there was an increase in cases of allergies (+12%) and general malaise (+13%) among children under 2 years of age, as well as a slight increase in cases of bronchitis (+8%) and pneumonia (+13%) among children aged 2–14. For children, the remaining indicators are stable or declining. For adults, all indicators are stable or declining, with the exception of visits for bronchitis, which showed a slight increase (+5%) among adults. The proportion of activity for the various seasonal indicators is comparable to or lower than that of the previous two years for both children and adults.

  • Among the most frequently seen conditions in emergency departments, there was a slight increase in visits for urinary tract infections (+10%) and burns (+9%) among children under 2 years of age, as well as visits for chest pain (+6%) and arrhythmias or conduction disorders (+6%) among people aged 75 and older.Finally, the marked increase in dermatological problems among children under 2 years of age observed in week 11 (+60%) did not continue into week 12 (-8%).
