Summary
Emergency room visits and hospitalizations for all causes are on the rise among adults over 15 years of age (+9%).
Visits for influenza/flu-like illness are on the rise (+33%). They continue to increase sharply among adults aged 75 and older (+94%) and are rising to a lesser extent (+35%) among children under two years of age and adults aged 15 to 74. The number of hospitalizations for influenza continues to rise among adults aged 15 and older (+68%). Across all age groups, the proportion of activity is higher than in the previous two years.
All seasonal indicators are rising among adults over 15 years of age, most notably among adults aged 75 and older. The incidence rates among those over 15 for isolated fever, bronchitis, and pneumonia are higher than in the previous two years. Note an increase in cardiac decompensation and dyspnea among adults over 75 years of age.
Emergency room visits and hospitalizations for bronchiolitis among children under two years of age are beginning to decline, while remaining close to the peak level reached two weeks ago.
