Summary

In Week 48 (November 26 to December 2), total activity increased among children (under 15 years of age) (+8.2%, or +7,764 visits) and remained stable among adults. Hospitalizations following visits increased among children under 2 years of age (+11.8%, or +516 hospitalizations).

All seasonal illnesses are on the rise among children and, to a more moderate extent, among adults. For respiratory illnesses, the most significant increases are: - among children under 2 years of age: bronchiolitis +32% and pneumonia +48.5%. All metropolitan regions (except Corsica), Guadeloupe, and Martinique are reported to be in an epidemic phase for bronchiolitis, - in children: influenza +24.6%, bronchitis +11.5%, and ENT conditions (+14%), - in adults aged 15–74: bronchitis +10%, asthma +7.1%, pneumonia +9.6%, and ENT conditions +11%.

Visits for gastroenteritis are on the rise among children (+8.9%) and adults (+16.3%).

We also note, among children, an increase in visits for allergies (+25%), conjunctivitis (+17.5%), and vomiting (+8%).

All indicators are at levels consistent with those of previous years, with the exception of visits for asthma among children (slightly higher than in the previous two years).
