Summary

In week 49 (December 3–9), clinic visits and hospitalizations following clinic visits increased among children under 2 years of age (up 5%, or 1,694 visits, and up 7%, or 353 hospitalizations, respectively), while remaining stable in other age groups.

Seasonal respiratory illnesses are on the rise. Specifically, there was an increase in visits for: - bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age (+16%, or +794 visits) and influenza, flu-like illness in all age groups (+29%, or +162 visits), - acute bronchitis in those over 15 years of age (+7%, or +100 visits), pneumonia in all age groups (+8%, or +341 visits), and ENT conditions in all age groups (+5%, or +872 visits), in moderate proportions.

Also noteworthy is the increase in visits for isolated fever in all age groups (+7%, or +260 visits) and infectious conjunctivitis in children under 2 years of age (+22%, or +42 visits) and adults aged 15–74 (+8%, or +46 visits).

With the exception of bronchiolitis, all indicators are at levels consistent with those of the previous two years
