Impact Assessment of a "Hepatitis" City-Hospital Network After 12 Years of Operation, Maine-et-Loire, 1991–2002
The Maine-et-Loire City-Hospital Network, or "Hepatitis Network 49," is one of the oldest networks dedicated to viral hepatitis in France (established in 1991). The missions of the hepatitis C networks were defined by circulars from the Hospital Administration on April 9, 1997, and from the General Directorate of Health and the Hospital Administration on May 21, 1999. The missions of the hepatitis C networks are to decentralize care as close as possible to patients. To achieve this, the networks aim to disseminate information to all stakeholders affected by the hepatitis C virus and to the general public, to implement screening, prevention, and care strategies, and to facilitate comprehensive patient care. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the network’s practices 12 years after its creation, as we previously did for its first six years of operation. (R.A.)
