HIV Diagnosis (DO)
The number of new HIV diagnoses was slightly down in 2023 (92 people), representing a rate of 296 per million, which remained very high and higher than that found in Île-de-France (173 per million)
HIV incidence
The number of new HIV infections in 2023 was estimated at 37 people, representing a rate of 11.9 per 100,000 people, equivalent to that of Île-de-France
Approximately 140 people in Mayotte are unaware of their HIV-positive status
The median time between infection and diagnosis was estimated at 2.3 years
AIDS Diagnosis
The number of AIDS diagnoses was estimated at 8 for 2023. It has been on the rise overall since 2014
Sexually transmitted infections caused by Chlamydia trachomatis (Ct), gonorrhea, and syphilis
Screening
The screening rate, across all genders and ages, for these three conditions was increasing. The highest rate was found among women aged 26–49. For women aged 15–25, with the exception of syphilis, the rate was similar to that of other groups (men and women over 50), even though they are of childbearing age
SNDS diagnosis (therefore concerning only those enrolled in the social security system)
The trends differed for these three conditions, with an upward trend for Chlamydia trachomatis and gonococcal infections, and a downward trend for syphilis
In 2023, the rate of positive diagnoses for these three conditions was primarily found among men aged 26 to 49
