Inauguration on Thursday, March 8, 2012, at the ARS of the Limousin branch of the InVS Regional Unit (Cire) for Limousin and Poitou-Charentes.
Created in 2008, Cire supports the work of the InVS in the Poitou-Charentes and Limousin regions. It provides both ARSs with methodological support and independent expertise in investigating health alerts as well as in the epidemiological surveillance of health events occurring in these regions (http://www.invs.sante.fr/Regions-et-territoires/L-InVS-dans-votre-region/Limousin-Poitou-Charentes).
The Cire team, based at the Poitou-Charentes ARS and led by Philippe Germonneau, consisted until 2011 of three epidemiologists (Ursula Noury, Marie-Eve Raguenaud, Alice Manirakiza) and an information systems officer (Rémi Métral). To provide a local response to epidemic situations arising in Limousin that require it, two new epidemiologists were recruited in late 2011 (Anne Bernadou and Jean-Rodrigue Ndong), forming the Limousin branch of the Cire.
On Thursday, March 8, the Cire branch was inaugurated by Dr. Françoise Weber, Director General of the Institute for Health Surveillance, and Mr. Michel Laforcade, Director General of the Limousin Regional Health Agency (ARS).
