Health monitoring of the ceremonies marking the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings. Update as of June 9, 2014.
No specific health incidents related to the various commemorative events have been reported to the ARS/Cire surveillance platform over the past 24 hours. Across the entire regional routine surveillance network (emergency facilities, SOS Médecins associations), an increase in activity has been observed, though no specific health incidents have been reported. Regarding the first-aid stations and medical aid posts set up for the events commemorating the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings, 55 cases were reported. In total, across the entire surveillance system, 59 cases related to the commemorations were reported to healthcare and emergency services. Most of the reasons for seeking care involved accidental injuries, whether or not resulting from a fall (n=28), and fainting spells (n=18).
