Tuberculosis in Île-de-France. 2022 Report.
Key Points
Significant decrease in reported tuberculosis cases in Île-de-France in 2022 compared to 2021, down 10.7% to 1,459 cases, representing an incidence rate of 11.4 per 100,000; however, this rate remains more than twice as high as the reported rate in mainland France excluding Île-de-France (4.9 per 100,000 inhabitants).
This decrease applies to both people born in France and those born abroad, regardless of their origin, although the reporting rate for the latter remains more than ten times higher than for the former. It also applies to both genders and all age groups except those under 15, among whom a very slight increase is observed.
The analysis by department is less uniform, as this decrease is not observed in the departments of Val-d’Oise, Seine-et-Marne, Yvelines, and Essonne, where the number of cases remains stable or is increasing slightly.
A concerning decline in the completeness of treatment outcomes, a key objective of tuberculosis surveillance.
