• Since May 1, 2022, the Île-de-France region has reported the highest number of arbovirus cases in mainland France, with 72 confirmed/probable cases of dengue and 8 confirmed cases of chikungunya, all linked to imported cases.

• The confirmed cases of dengue were mostly imported from the Americas and Asia.

• In mainland France, Aedes albopictus—a mosquito that transmits, among other viruses, dengue, chikungunya, and Zika—has been established since 2004 and is spreading to new departments each year. As of January 1, 2022, 67 departments are considered colonized by the mosquito (out of 96 metropolitan departments), including all 8 departments in the Île-de-France region.

• As of July 1, 2022, there are 54 colonized municipalities in the Île-de-France region, spread across all departments.
