Public Health Bulletin on Tuberculosis in the Île-de-France Region. March 2022.
Key Points
The reporting rate is declining in 2020, and significantly so compared to 2019 (with 14.3 vs. 16.5 reported cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 2019 in Île-de-France), but remains twice the rate documented at the national level (7.6 per 100,000 inhabitants in France) and 5 per 100,000 inhabitants in metropolitan France excluding Île-de-France.
A notable decrease (13%) is observed among people born abroad (48.9 cases in 2019 vs. 42.6 per 100,000 inhabitants in 2020), particularly among those born in sub-Saharan Africa as well as among those who have been in the country for less than two years.
A considerable decrease was observed in Paris (13 cases in 2020 vs. 15.1 per 100,000 inhabitants in 2019), in Seine-et-Marne, Yvelines, and Val-d’Oise, while rates remained stable in other departments.
