Key points

Lower Respiratory Tract Infections

  • In hospitals: The number of emergency department visits for lower respiratory tract infections (LRTI) remained stable, with 1,450 visits (-4.4%). The share of emergency department activity attributed to lower respiratory tract infections (LRTI) continued to decline over several weeks, accounting for 2.2% of total activity.

  • In the community: At SOS Médecins, the number of procedures was down to 832 (-9.2%). The share of activity related to lower respiratory tract infections was also down to 7.8% (-1.2 percentage points).

Influenza and Influenza-Like Illness

  • Indicators for influenza-like illness were down sharply across all age groups, both in private practice and in hospitals. In emergency departments, visits for influenza-like illness accounted for less than 1% of activity. In SOS Médecins data, the share of activity for influenza-like illness accounted for less than 2% of procedures.

  • End of the influenza epidemic in Île-de-France since S08 → Discontinuation of influenza surveillance.

Asthma

  • A very sharp increase in the number of hospital emergency department visits and the number of visits followed by hospitalization for asthma in S11, compared to S10, among those over 15 years of age and also among children between 2 and 14 years of age. The number of emergency department visits for asthma in S11 is at the same level as the 2015 peak reached in S15 (4 weeks earlier).

  • The number of asthma-related procedures at SOS Médecins has stabilized among those over 15 years of age but has risen sharply among children aged 2 to 14.
