Health Monitoring in the Île-de-France Region. Update as of September 6, 2023.
Key points
Chikungunya, dengue, Zika
179 cases of arboviral diseases—156 confirmed cases and 23 probable cases—were identified in Île-de-France, including 171 cases of dengue, 2 cases of chikungunya, and 6 cases of Zika. All of these cases were imported (Table 1 and Figure 2). Twenty-nine hospitalizations for dengue and one for chikungunya were reported. No deaths were reported.
The dengue cases were imported from the Caribbean (100), Latin America (31), Asia (28), and sub-Saharan Africa (12); the chikungunya cases from Mali and Senegal; and the 6 Zika cases from Thailand (Figure 3). Among the cases, 158 (89%) were potentially viremic in Île-de-France, and 76 (42.5%) resided in municipalities in the Île-de-France region colonized by the “tiger mosquito” (Aedes albopictus).
