Health Monitoring in the Île-de-France Region. Bulletin of July 17, 2025.

Key Points

Dengue, Chikungunya, and Zika

  • 107 cases of dengue and 132 cases of chikungunya, all imported, were reported in Île-de-France from May 1 to July 7, 2025.

  • As of July 15, 2025, 13 outbreaks of local transmission were identified in mainland France: 12 of chikungunya (31 cases in total) and 1 of dengue (1 case). These outbreaks occurred in the following regions: PACA, Corsica, Occitanie, ARA, Grand Est, and Nouvelle-Aquitaine (in the latter two, this marks the first time that local transmission of an arbovirus has been identified). No local transmission has been reported in Île-de-France at this time.

Malaria

  • Two cases of indigenous malaria, with no known epidemiological link but sharing the same Plasmodium strain, are currently under investigation in Seine-et-Marne. At least one imported infected mosquito is the most likely source of the infections. Since cases of locally acquired malaria are at higher risk of severe disease due to diagnostic delays, it is important for healthcare professionals to remain vigilant.

COVID-19

  • The use of outpatient care and emergency departments for suspected COVID-19 remains at low and generally stable levels. The data are not detailed in this section.
