Bronchiolitis Surveillance: In mainland France as well as in Nord-Pas-de-Calais-Picardie, the epidemic has now been over for several weeks.
Surveillance of influenza-like illnessIn mainland France, indicators continue to rise; the peak has not yet been reached. Children are particularly affected. The epidemic is primarily linked to the influenza B virus. In Nord and Pas-de-Calais, the rise in indicators continues, with a significant proportion of patients under 15 years of age seen by SOS Médecins and an increase in the number of influenza B viruses isolated by the Lille University Hospital. The regional alert threshold has been exceeded for the 8th consecutive week. In Aisne, Oise, and Somme, indicators are stabilizing but remain at a high level. The regional alert threshold has been exceeded for the 7th consecutive week. The epidemic peak appears to have been reached or is about to be reached.
Surveillance of severe influenza cases hospitalized in intensive care units In mainland France, 614 severe influenza cases have been reported this season. The majority were infected with influenza A and had risk factors. The case fatality rate is 13%. In Nord and Pas-de-Calais, 10 new severe cases of influenza were reported, bringing the total to 47 since the start of surveillance. In Aisne, Oise, and Somme, one new case was reported by intensive care units.
Surveillance of Acute Gastroenteritis In mainland France, data from the Sentinelles network indicate that the incidence rate of acute diarrhea remains below the epidemic threshold.In Nord-Pas-de-Calais and in the Aisne, Oise, and Somme departments, activity remains stable below the alert thresholds.
