Health Monitoring in Hauts-de-France. Update as of March 21, 2024.
Key Points
Flu
Post-epidemic phase for the third consecutive week.
Indicators of healthcare utilization for influenza-like illness across all age groups continue to decline, as does viral circulation.
Among those aged 65 and older, following an increase in outpatient visits in week 10, the trend is downward in week 11. Influenza remains the leading cause of acute respiratory infections (ARIs) in long-term care facilities.
Summary of surveillance of severe cases of influenza and SARS-CoV-2 hospitalized in intensive care, updated as of March 20, 2024.
Bronchiolitis
Non-epidemic phase.
The number of children under 2 years of age seeking care for bronchiolitis at SOS Médecins and in the region’s emergency departments remains stable.
However, vigilance is still warranted, and preventive measures should be maintained to protect young infants from risks associated with other winter respiratory viruses that can cause bronchiolitis.
COVID-19
Low activity in both community settings and hospitals.
Acute gastroenteritis
Moderate activity levels.
Cases of acute gastroenteritis in children under 5 are on the rise at SOS Médecins and in emergency departments.
