- The tuberculosis reporting rate continued to decline in 2017 and, for the first time since mandatory reporting began in 2001, fell below the average rate of other provincial regions.

- While in 2015, Ille-et-Vilaine stood out from other Breton departments with half of the cases being foreign-born, the situation in 2017 tended to even out across Breton departments, with the proportion approaching one-third.

- Among the 180 reported cases of active tuberculosis, 16 severe forms were reported: 10 cases of tuberculous meningitis (including 2 in children aged 0 to 4 years), and 6 cases of miliary tuberculosis (in adults, including 3 born abroad).

- Smear-positive pulmonary tuberculosis (BAAC+), the most contagious form, accounts for more than half of all pulmonary tuberculosis cases and more than one-third of all tuberculosis cases. Three-quarters of those affected were born in France, with those aged 75 and older being the most affected.

- In 2017, tuberculosis resistant to both isoniazid and rifampicin remained sporadic, with 4 cases reported, 3 of which were pulmonary.
