Bronchiolitis
3rd week of the outbreak
For this 3rd week of the epidemic, the number of emergency room visits for bronchiolitis continues to rise to 13% in S50 (vs. 12% in S-1) and is decreasing for SOS Médecins to 5% (vs. 7% in S-1).
Bronchiolitis accounts for 30% of all coded hospitalizations among children under 2 years of age (approximately 50 hospitalizations), a figure that has been rising for the past two weeks.
Influenza
2nd week of the epidemic
The flu epidemic (which began in Week 48 in the Île-de-France region) affected the Yonne and Côte-d’Or departments in Week 49. It is spreading to other departments, confirming the second week of the epidemic in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region, with: 1.3% of flu cases among emergency department visits (vs. 0.6% in Week 1); 12.1% among SOS Médecins calls (vs. 7.0% in Week 1); 130 cases per 100,000 inhabitants according to the Sentinelles network (vs. 100 in Week 1).
Clusters of acute respiratory infections
Since September 30, 2024, 93 clusters of acute respiratory infections (ARI) have been reported. The number of new clusters has been low since week 42 (mid-October; Figure 7A), lower than that recorded during the same period last year.
COVID-19
The SARS-CoV-2 virus continues to circulate at low levels in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, as in other regions. The proportion of cases handled by SOS Médecins and emergency departments for suspected COVID-19 remains low.
Acute gastroenteritis
Gastroenteritis is circulating in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté at a low level for SOS Médecins and a moderate level for the emergency network in S49, comparable to the two previous seasons.
