This increase was particularly marked in these two departments on Sunday, December 8. The Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region has entered an epidemic phase, with 7% of SOS Médecins cases (vs. 5% in Week 1) and 0.6% of flu cases among emergency room visits (vs. 0.4% in Week 1).

Clusters of acute respiratory infections
85 clusters of cases reported since 09/30/24 (representing nearly 8% of reports received in France). The number of new outbreaks has been low since Week 42 and is lower than that recorded during the same period last year. The outbreaks occurred mainly in nursing homes (86%). The number of reports (regardless of the etiology identified) ranges from 0 (Territoire-de-Belfort) to 20 (Saône-et-Loire).
Etiological investigations were conducted for 78 episodes (92% of all episodes). The majority of ARI episodes (n=66) were attributed exclusively to COVID-19. Three episodes attributed exclusively to influenza were identified in S40, S47, and S49. Since S40, three episodes with a COVID-19/influenza co-infection have been reported (the last of which occurred in S47).

The SARS-CoV-2 virus continues to circulate at low levels in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, as in other regions. The proportion of cases handled by SOS Médecins and emergency departments for suspected COVID-19 remains low.
Acute Gastroenteritis
Gastroenteritis is circulating in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté at a low level for SOS Médecins and a moderate level for the emergency network in week 49, at a level comparable to the two previous seasons.
