COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes as of April 15, 2021
Key Points
In Week 14 (April 5–11), testing and incidence rates dropped artificially due to the very low activity observed on Easter Monday (April 5), making it difficult to interpret their trends between Weeks 13 and 14. Additional analyses were therefore conducted to account for the effect of the holiday on virological surveillance indicators. Following these adjustments, the regional incidence rate stands at 405 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 14 and thus appears to be stabilizing in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes after four weeks of increase,
while the testing rate decreases (-21%). The positivity rate has increased to 10.2% (vs. 8% in Week 13). The unadjusted data show a decline in incidence across all age groups, but this decline is more pronounced among those aged 0–15, linked to a very sharp drop in testing activity due to school closures.
