This week, Santé publique France is launching santementale-info-service.fr, the national website dedicated to mental health. Designed for the general public, it provides guidance on understanding mental health, learning how to look after it on a daily basis, identifying signs of psychological distress, and finding appropriate help. With reliable and educational content, the site offers a reassuring and inclusive space to learn more and find resources.
Its launch is part of the national initiative “Let’s Talk About Mental Health!” and is accompanied by a fully digital awareness campaign running from September 29 to November 23. Through simple messages, this campaign aims to encourage dialogue and raise awareness of the website, so that it is recognized as a go-to resource for mental health information and prevention for the general public.
Why a website dedicated to mental health?
Too often reduced to mere psychological disorders, mental health is an integral part of our overall health. The World Health Organization (WHO) reminds us: “There is no health without mental health.”
It is also worth noting that the factors influencing mental health are partly individual but also environmental, whether they pertain to living conditions (access to work, housing, and healthcare) or the structure of society (education, inequalities, and discrimination).
The national roadmap on “mental health and psychiatry” entrusts Santé publique France with the mission of ensuring sustained communication on mental health for the general public, involving regular campaigns and the development of a dedicated website.
In this context, Santé publique France has created santementale-info-service.fr, a national reference website on mental health to inform, prevent, and guide all audiences.
This resource site is part of an ambitious strategy structured around three major public health objectives: promoting mental health and psychological well-being; preventing distress, mental disorders, and associated risky behaviors; and combating the stigmatization of people affected by a mental disorder.
The Santé publique France strategy also includes regular public awareness campaigns and partnerships with information and support services to target specific audiences or particularly vulnerable populations.
A website providing information and support on mental health issues
The santementale-info-service.fr website was designed to address the information needs identified by the Agency’s surveys of the general public. It was developed in collaboration with a panel of users to tailor its content and features to the expectations and realities of the target audience. Its content, based on scientific data and validated by experts and stakeholders in the field of mental health, ensures reliable, high-quality information. It will be regularly evaluated and updated to adapt to the public’s needs.
The site is organized around five complementary sections: understanding mental health and its determinants; discovering behaviors that promote mental health in daily life (engaging in physical activity, getting good sleep, being there for one another, spending time in nature and sunlight, etc.); recognizing the signs of psychological distress; helping a loved one who is struggling; and identifying available resources to find help.
A website accessible to everyone
Designed for everyone aged 18 and older, the site is intended to be accessible to all, thanks to easy-to-understand information, examples tailored to different life situations, and a non-stigmatizing approach to these situations.
The site’s visual identity was designed to be warm and accessible, featuring a soft, colorful graphic style, simple and clear navigation paths, and a layout that complies with digital accessibility standards (WCAG) and is optimized for mobile use.
Content is presented in a variety of formats to make the information more engaging and practical: quizzes to assess one’s knowledge, videos by healthcare professionals to separate fact from fiction regarding mental health, as well as practical exercises, such as a downloadable sleep diary, cardiac coherence videos, and relaxation audio files.
With this approach, santementale-info-service.fr positions itself as a leading resource for mental health information and prevention for the general public.
A promotional campaign starting September 29
To accompany the site’s launch, a 100% digital communication campaign will run from September 29 to November 23, 2025, featuring banners, videos shown in healthcare settings (pharmacies, health centers, clinics, etc.), and sponsored posts on social media. Posters are also available for order for public spaces. Beyond raising awareness of the website, the campaign aims to encourage the French public to learn about mental health and take care of it: “We all have mental health, and we can take care of it.”
This general message will be complemented by:
Santé publique France works to promote a comprehensive and inclusive vision of mental health. With the website santementale-info-service.fr, we offer a reliable, positive, and accessible resource to better understand and care for one’s mental health. This website is part of a comprehensive strategy: breaking down taboos, encouraging dialogue, supporting everyone during times of vulnerability, and promoting behaviors and environments that enhance well-being. Designated as the National Cause of the Year for 2025, mental health is everyone’s business; it is a major public health issue.
Messages to destigmatize open discussion and encourage dialogue:
“What should I do when someone close to me is struggling?”, “What if taking care of others is also good for my mental health?”, “Who can I talk to when I’m not feeling well?”
Messages to promote behaviors that support mental health
“What if turning off screens an hour before bed were good for my mental health?”; “What if getting around on foot or by bike were also good for my mental health?”; “What if being in nature were also good for my mental health?”
In 2025, the year designated as the National Year of Mental Health, Santé publique France is mobilizing all its departments—from producing data on the population’s mental health to deploying resources for the general public—to support public policy.
By the end of the year, Santé publique France will publish new data on mental health and launch a new public awareness campaign in November to combat stigma.
