Dengue, Chikungunya, Zika: From Prevention to Reporting. Mainland France – Corsica
Dengue, chikungunya, and Zika are tropical diseases caused by arboviruses. They are regularly brought into mainland France and Corsica by travelers (imported cases), where they can be transmitted by the Asian tiger mosquito (Aedes albopictus). Prevention and early reporting of these three diseases help reduce the risk of local transmission chains (autochthonous cases). This document, intended for healthcare professionals, outlines the modes of transmission for these diseases and their main symptoms. It presents key prevention messages, the laboratory tests to be ordered, and the reporting procedures for these notifiable diseases (links to CERFA forms).
