In addition to the year’s highlights, explore the six major public health challenges that shape our roadmap and strategic priorities: public health threats, social inequalities in health, the burden of disease, environmental health, social marketing, and digital technology in public health. These issues shape the Agency’s programming and support policies that promote improved health in all its dimensions, working closely with local communities.

Key Focus Areas of Santé publique France’s Work in 2021

By mobilizing a broad network of on-the-ground stakeholders and adapting information systems to exceptional circumstances, the agency ensured the consistency of surveillance systems and real-time data analysis to support public decision-making in a highly responsive manner. It also led the response through prevention, the promotion of health in all its dimensions, as well as the procurement and delivery across the entire country of millions of vaccine doses, protective equipment, and medical supplies to support COVID-19 vaccination campaigns.

The launch of cross-cutting programs on mental health, perinatal care, and the impact of climate change on health has also enabled the deployment of integrated public health systems that reflect our priorities and the involvement of all relevant partners.
