ASKIP: Experts Answer Teens' Questions About Sexual Health
“Askip, the pill can cause infertility. Askip, you can’t get pregnant the first time” … Teens have a lot of questions about sexuality. The “Askip” (“as they say”) educational videos from Santé publique France are here to answer them.

During this health crisis, Santé publique France remains committed to its mission of promoting sexual health among young people through targeted information campaigns such as Askip, which aim to help them better understand their sexuality.
Young People and Sexuality: Where Do We Stand?
The SEXI1 survey shows that during adolescence and in the years that follow, the Internet is a major source of information on sexuality across all aspects: the biological functioning of the body, interpersonal relationships, sexual orientation, sexual practices, and even desire and pleasure.
It is also a medium characterized by a particularly mixed reliability of information sources. Rumors, old wives’ tales, urban legends, and misinformation: teenagers sometimes struggle to distinguish fact from fiction.
However, their knowledge of sexuality and prevention remains limited: for example, more than half of those under 30 believe that emergency contraception must be taken no later than 24 hours after unprotected sex, whereas the maximum timeframe is 5 days. This represents a major missed opportunity.
‘ASKIP Sexuality’: Educational Videos Tailored to Teenagers’ Language
From September 2020 to May 2021, Santé publique France is promoting a series of educational videos aimed at 12- to 15-year-olds to debunk the misconceptions circulating about sexuality.
Episodes lasting about 1 minute and 30 seconds feature teenagers asking questions about a topic related to sexuality, followed by answers from an expert.
A total of 15 videos will be released gradually every three weeks or so and will cover a wide range of topics such as reproduction, screening, pornography, as well as masturbation, desire, social media, LGBT issues, and consent.
These videos will be released as ads on YouTube, Snapchat, and TikTok—which are currently teens’ favorite social media platforms—as well as on LinkedIn and Facebook. They will also be available on the onSEXprime.fr website and on Santé publique France’s Facebook and YouTube pages.

OnSEXprime.fr, the Santé publique France website dedicated to teenagers
With 2 to 3 million visits per year, the onSEXprime.fr website attracts a large audience among teenagers. It addresses sexuality in its entirety and topics such as the first time or pleasure in a fun and positive way, particularly through audio and video content and interactive tools.
This approach also helps engage a population whose primary concerns are more relationship-oriented and who feel less concerned about risks with prevention messages.
The onSEXprime initiative also includes:
