Expert opinion on the establishment of a process to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions as part of the creation of a portal for evidence-based interventions in health prevention and promotion
There is a body of research spanning 50 years on prevention and health promotion published in the scientific literature. Access to this literature is difficult and costly. Furthermore, the interventions evaluated are described only briefly in the articles or reviews, which are primarily devoted to the statistical methods of evaluation and their validity. This literature is therefore underutilized. Yet this research has required significant human and financial resources, and above all, a substantial investment of time in the design, implementation, and follow-up of the cohorts necessary for long-term evaluation, sometimes spanning decades. Furthermore, project leaders implement innovative prevention projects tailored to their target audience and local needs, but rarely have the technical and financial means to evaluate the impact of their programs. There is therefore a lack of an information system capable of bridging these two worlds: the international and national body of published research on prevention and health promotion on the one hand, and the national body of programs created in the field on the other.
