Rethinking school roles to combat school dropout rates.

School dropout results from complex factors involving a series of breakdowns in these young people’s relationships with the school system, teachers and other staff, fellow students, and also with their family and friends. As part of the work carried out by back-to-school programs (SREs), educational teams focus in particular on rebuilding the trust that these young people have lost. Teachers must be trained so that their role is not limited to the transmission of knowledge.
