"Health at Every Age," or How to Communicate About Prevention to Seniors.
One of the key areas of the National "Healthy Aging" Plan is dedicated to informing the general public about strategies for preventing pathological aging. In this context, the National Institute for Prevention and Health Education (Inpes) was tasked with implementing a specific communication campaign in the form of a series of short programs, "Health at Every Age," broadcast in 2007 and 2008 on France Télévision. This article presents this national communication initiative and analyzes its impact on older adults based on a qualitative study (interviews and focus groups) and an evaluation conducted among 1,005 people aged 15 and older. Older adults use a variety of information sources; they express a desire for accurate and well-documented information on preventive practices that address the issues of aging and health in a positive light. Designed for this purpose, "Health at Every Age" consists of 28 short programs, each addressing a topic related to aging and preventive measures. The impact survey reveals that these programs are highly appreciated, even though their broadcast has remained relatively limited. [author’s abstract]
