Organized Cervical Cancer Screening: Data Format Guide and Definitions of Epidemiological Evaluation Indicators
The guide to data formats and indicator definitions for the epidemiological evaluation of organized cervical cancer screening is intended for all administrative bodies responsible for organizing cervical cancer screening. Its main objectives are: 1) to describe the data required for the epidemiological evaluation; 2) to describe the procedure for data exchange between the InVS and the management organizations for organized screening; 3) to list and clearly define the minimum indicators calculated from this data and their purpose. Each management organization submits cervical cancer screening data annually to the French Institute for Public Health Surveillance (InVS) in a standardized format for epidemiological evaluation. The evaluation indicators are developed at the InVS based on these data and are presented overall and by department, in five-year age groups. They are divided into three main categories: - screening activity indicators; - indicators of the quality of tests, examinations, and follow-up; - histological lesions detected. The list of evaluation indicators presented in this guide is not exhaustive. It presents those that are essential. The indicators are calculated overall and distinguish between organized screening (or screening following an invitation and/or a reminder) and individual screening. (R.A.)
