Health Surveillance in Occitanie. Epidemiological Update as of January 17, 2017.

Key Points

Influenza and influenza-like illnesses: The current situation indicates that the influenza epidemic in the region, which began in week 50 of 2016, is continuing. In week 2 of 2017, surveillance indicators were still showing a slight increase compared to the previous week, and the epidemic peak had not yet been reached.

Bronchiolitis (in children under 2 years of age): The epidemic peak for bronchiolitis was reached in week 52 of 2016 in the region; the epidemic is now in a downward phase.

Gastroenteritis: The gastroenteritis epidemic continues (2nd week) in Occitanie. Epidemiological monitoring indicators for the Occitanie region in week 02-2017 remained stable at a high level, both in outpatient care and in emergency departments.
