Asthma, Allergies, and Conjunctivitis in the Hauts-de-France Region. Update as of June 7, 2023.

Key Points

In the Hauts-de-France region, due to the presence of allergens (pollen, grasses) and current weather conditions (temperatures higher than seasonal averages and a tendency toward thunderstorms), emergency departments and/or SOS Médecins associations in the region are seeing a marked increase in medical visits for allergies and conjunctivitis, among both children and adults. An unusual surge in SOS Médecins consultations for infectious conjunctivitis has been observed since this winter across the entire Hauts-de-France region, with levels higher than in previous years. Seekings of medical care for asthma, although on the rise for several weeks, currently remain at levels seen in previous years across all age groups. These findings should prompt the utmost vigilance in the coming weeks, particularly among the most vulnerable individuals.
