Key Points

Dengue

  • Over the past two weeks, dengue activity has been low in French Guiana, with 3 confirmed cases (S2025-50 and 51), one from the Savanes sector and two from an undetermined location. The predominant serotype is DENV-2.

Malaria

  • The number of malaria cases has been moderate and stable over the past two weeks, with 6 cases of P. vivax reported (2 in S50 and 4 in S51). Among these, no relapses were reported.

  • A total of 162 malaria cases have been recorded since the beginning of the year.

Acute respiratory infections

  • Over the past two weeks, the number of cases clinically suggestive of influenza-like illness in primary care centers, local hospitals, and the emergency departments of the three hospitals rose sharply once again.

  • Activity related to bronchiolitis was low, with 3 positive samples identified by laboratories during this same period. No SARS-CoV-2 cases were recorded.

Diarrhea

  • Activity was moderate and decreasing in primary care centers, community hospitals, and the emergency departments of the three hospitals.
