COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Martinique as of February 2, 2023

Key Points

The epidemiological situation remains favorable in Martinique. The fourth wave (S04) was marked by a simultaneous decline in incidence and positivity rates of 19% and 1.1 percentage points, respectively. However, testing activity remained stable. The incidence rate decreased in all age groups except those aged 10–19, 20–29, and 40–49. The situation in hospitals was also favorable. Given the concurrent circulation of SARS-CoV-2 and other viruses (influenza, RSV), the practice of preventive measures (frequent handwashing, social distancing, and wearing surgical masks, particularly in enclosed spaces) remains strongly recommended.
