Yverdon-les-Bains: A Plan to Promote Physical Activity [Interview]

In Yverdon-les-Bains, all public and community facilities—parks, schoolyards, and parking lots—are designed to be used for physical activity within a 5-minute walk from home. Sports facilities are open free of charge to the entire population every Sunday, so that even the youngest children can get active from an early age. A “Knowledge Café” will gather residents’ expectations regarding physical activity, with a focus on sustainable health. The goal: to combine public health, regional visibility, social cohesion, and integration.
