Health Surveillance of Mortality. Weekly Update, October 27, 2015.

Summary

Following a moderate but non-significant increase in all-cause mortality observed during week 41 (October 5–11)(*), the number of deaths recorded during week 42 (October 12–18, 2015) decreased and returned to levels consistent with expected values for this period. This trend primarily affects people aged 65 and older (Figures 1–3).

1,171 electronic death certificates were recorded during week 43 (October 19–25), a sharp increase compared to the previous three weeks (Figure 4). However, this increase should be interpreted with caution, as it may be partly due to the ramp-up of the certification system in healthcare facilities.
