Health Monitoring in the Grand Est Region. Bulletin of December 11, 2025.
Key points
Bronchiolitis
In week 2025-49, the increase in bronchiolitis indicators that began in week 2025-45 continues: it accounts for 18% of emergency room visits and 10% of SOS Médecins consultations among children under 1 year of age.
Influenza and influenza-like illnesses
All indicators for influenza-like illness are showing a marked increase: the rate of emergency department visits rose from 0.6% (W48-2025) to 1.2% (W49-2025), and the rate of SOS Médecins consultations from 7% to 10%. Virology data also indicate an increase in the circulation of influenza A in the region. These data have led to the region being classified as being in a phase of influenza epidemic.
COVID-19
Seekings of care for suspected COVID-19 remain stable at a low level (<1% of total activity) in both private practice and hospitals. Note an increase in the Sum’eau indicator over the past 3 weeks.
Acute Gastroenteritis
An increase has been observed in emergency departments, though it remains within the usual seasonal fluctuations.
