Key Points

COVID-19

  • Decrease in viral circulation as measured by biological indicators

  • Most other indicators monitored as part of this surveillance have stabilized or declined, with the exception of an increase in COVID-19-related hospital deaths

Chikungunya, dengue, Zika

  • 23 imported cases of dengue and 1 imported case of chikungunya were identified in the region

  • Three episodes of local dengue transmission were identified in the region

West Nile virus

  • 4 cases of West Nile virus infection were confirmed by the CNR: these were locally transmitted cases residing in or having stayed in the Bouches-du-Rhône (2) and Var (2) departments

  • Four equine cases were also confirmed by the LNR in the Var department in August and September

Monkeypox

  • As of 10/25/22, 284 confirmed cases residing in the Paca region have been reported

Bronchiolitis

  • Transition to epidemic phase

  • Emergency departments - The proportion of visits for bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age is rising sharply (10.8% vs. 6.27% in Week 41)

  • SOS Médecins - The proportion of consultations for bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age is rising (5.7% vs. 4.4% in Week 41)
