Key indicators

City-wide surveillance

  • Sentinelles Network: 73 (tele)consultations for acute respiratory infections (ARI) per 100,000 inhabitants in week 2020-18 (69 in week 2020-17)

  • SOS Médecins: downward trend with 414 COVID-19 cases per 10,000 procedures in week 2020-18 (600 in week 2020-17)

  • LABM (3 labs): downward trend with 7% positive tests in week 2020-18 (8% in week 2020-17)

Surveillance in long-term care facilities, including nursing homes

  • 6,720 cases of COVID-19 among residents, including 580 deaths in the facility and 439 in the hospital, reported through April 27.

Hospital surveillance

  • Oscour® network: downward trend with 426 visits for suspected COVID-19 per 10,000 visits in week 2020-18 (598 in week 2020-17)

  • Hospital laboratories: downward trend with 9% of tests positive in week 2020-18 (14% in week 2020-17)

Monitoring of severe cases

  • Sentinel intensive care units: 443 severe COVID-19 cases reported by intensive care units, of which 51% were aged 65 and older, and 80% had at least one underlying condition.

Mortality surveillance

  • Since mid-March, excess all-cause mortality has been observed at the regional level, with a peak observed in late March–early April.
