  • Regional incidence rates and positivity rates are highest among those aged 30–49 and 6–14

  • Increase in the number of new hospitalizations (particularly among those over 80)

Bronchiolitis

  • Non-epidemic phase, stable activity, at a moderate level

Flu-like syndromes

  • Transition to epidemic phase, sharp rise in influenza activity

  • Significant increase in healthcare utilization for flu-like symptoms in hospitals and outpatient settings

Acute gastroenteritis

  • Increasing in emergency departments, at a high level, particularly among children under 5 years of age. Significant community circulation of rotavirus

All-cause mortality

  • All-cause mortality across all age groups was decreasing, with the number of deaths returning to within the usual range of fluctuation
