Dengue in French Guiana. Update as of December 7, 2023.

Key Points

Over the past two weeks, the virus has resumed circulating in the West Coast and Cayenne Island sectors. A slight decline has been observed in the Savanes sector, a trend that remains to be confirmed in the coming weeks. Indeed, vigilance remains essential at the start of the
rainy season, which is conducive to an epidemic resurgence.

A total of 2,161 confirmed cases of dengue have been recorded since the beginning of the year. The DEN-3 serotype predominates, except on Cayenne Island, where DEN-2 is circulating at equivalent levels. The outbreak in the town of Grand-Santi remains active.
