COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for the Centre-Val de Loire Region as of September 17, 2020

Key Points

As of September 17, in the Centre-Val de Loire region:

  • 34 clusters (excluding nursing homes and small family settings) are currently under investigation: 3 in Cher, 5 in Eure-et-Loir, 1 in Indre, 13 in Indre-et-Loire, and 15 in Loiret.

  • 3 clusters in nursing homes are currently under investigation, 1 in Cher and 2 in Indre-et-Loire.

Clusters of high epidemiological significance* currently under investigation in the Centre-Val de Loire region:

  • Cher (18):

    • 30 cases at a maintenance worksite, including 1 person hospitalized.

    • 24 cases in a healthcare facility, including 5 healthcare workers and 18 patients, 3 of whom have died.

    • 58 cases in a nursing home, including 3 staff members and 55 residents, 2 of whom have died.

  • Eure-et-Loir (28):

    • 15 cases at a retail store.

    • 48 cases at a military base (37 young people and 11 supervisors).

  • Indre (36):

    • 13 cases among mobile gendarmes.

  • Indre-et-Loire (37): 3 separate clusters within the same healthcare facility but in 3 different departments:

    • 5 cases among staff members.

    • 12 cases (5 staff members and 7 patients).

    • 5 cases also among staff members.

    • 17 cases at a sports club (12 club members and 5 non-members).

    • 30 cases in a nursing home, including 8 staff members and 22 residents, of whom 2 were hospitalized and 2 died.

  • Loir-et-Cher (41): no high-risk clusters currently under investigation.

  • Loiret (45):

    • 14 cases at a social housing and integration facility and 4 cases at a company where one of the cases from that facility works.

    • 5 cases at a maintenance worksite.
