COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for the Centre-Val de Loire Region as of July 15, 2021
Key Points
In Week 27, there was a slight increase in virological surveillance indicators, particularly among young adults. The incidence rate remains one of the lowest in mainland France (second-lowest incidence rate). Increase in the proportion of the L452R mutation.
A slight increase in the incidence rate was observed in Cher, Eure-et-Loir, and Indre-et-Loire. Decreases were noted in Indre and Loir-et-Cher. The increase was limited to the 15–44 age group (+30%). The positivity rate has stabilized, while the testing rate has risen.
The L452R variant is predominant in the region (59.9% of screened tests).
Increase in the proportion of procedures for suspected COVID-19 cases handled by SOS Médecins. Decrease in hospital activity and emergency department activity.
