Health Monitoring in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. Bulletin of June 5, 2025.
Key points
Extreme heat, heat wave
Indicators of heat-related illnesses are currently at low levels.
Asthma
An increase in the number of visits for asthma attacks following thunderstorms was observed in northeastern France: 43 visits to BFC emergency rooms on Sunday, June 1 (vs. 1 to 11 in the previous 6 days), 213 in ARA (vs. 19–54), and 45 in GE (vs. 4–13); this increase is also observed in SOS Médecins activity. This phenomenon of allergen release during thunderstorms is already known and demonstrates that preventive measures for people with asthma are still necessary.
