Health Monitoring of Asthma - Back-to-School 2019. Weekly Update for October 1, 2019.

In week 39 (September 23–29),

  • nationwide, following a sharp increase observed in week 37, there has been a decline in the number of asthma-related visits to emergency departments (-21%) and SOS Médecins clinics (-23%) among children under 15. The number of visits is lower than in the previous two years. The proportion of hospitalizations following emergency department visits for asthma is also declining.

  • In the Indian Ocean, visits to emergency departments as well as hospitalizations following visits for asthma are also declining among children under 15 years of age.
