Key points

Syndromic surveillance

  • In week 35, emergency department visits and SOS Médecins consultations remained stable compared with the previous week in all age groups, except for SOS Médecins consultations in the under-15 age group (+11.7%), as expected at the end of the summer holidays.

  • After falling last week, SOS Médecins consultations for pertussis (whooping cough) were once again on the rise among people aged 15–64 years. The number of consultations for pertussis remains higher than in the previous 3 years in all age groups, in emergency departments and within the SOS Médecins network.

  • After falling sharply in week 34, the number of consultations for hyperthermia/heatstroke increased in week 35 across all age groups, in emergency departments, and within the SOS Médecins network.

Surveillance of Emergency Medical Services

  • In week 35, the daily number of calls to emergency medical services (SAMU) remained within expected levels across all SAMUs.

Wastewater surveillance

  • The upward trend in SARS-CoV-2 circulation continued in week 35, although regional variations persist (with levels stabilizing in Île-de-France and rising in Centre-Val de Loire).
