COVID-19 in France. Update as of September 4, 2024.

Key Points

  • In week 35, syndromic indicators remained stable in the community and in hospitals.

  • Virological indicators have remained generally stable for several weeks. However, a slight increase in hospitals was observed in week 35.

  • In wastewater, the upward trend in SARS-CoV-2 circulation continues.

  • However, indicators reflecting active SARS-CoV-2 circulation since June 2024 remained at levels lower than those observed during the last winter season.

  • In the current epidemiological context, particularly during large gatherings this summer and in long-term care facilities, adhering to preventive measures remains an effective way to protect oneself from respiratory infections and their complications and to limit the risk of transmission to others, especially vulnerable individuals: wearing a mask if symptomatic and regular handwashing are therefore recommended.
