Tetanus in France in 2002–2004
Tetanus is a notifiable disease. Mandatory reporting allows for monitoring trends in the incidence of the disease, identifying its key epidemiological characteristics, and assessing the impact of preventive measures. Only generalized tetanus cases are required to be reported. The analysis presented here is based on cases reported to the Departmental Directorates of Health and Social Affairs (DDASS) and forwarded to the French Institute for Public Health Surveillance.
