Summary

For the first week of 2019 (December 31 to January 6), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics decreased by 24% for children, increased by 10.4% for adults aged 15–74 (+5,141 visits), and remained stable for those aged 75 and older.

Over the past week, the main increases in activity among adults were observed for: - influenza/flu-like illness (+44%, or +1,067 cases), the sharpest increase of the week, - other seasonal respiratory conditions: pneumonia (+19%, or +192 cases) and acute bronchitis (+16%, or +783 cases) - ENT conditions (+9%, or +1,245 cases, at levels higher than the previous two years), - gastroenteritis (+10%, or +449 cases).

Also noteworthy is the continued increase in cases of chickenpox among children (+26%, or +152 cases), with numbers exceeding those of the previous two years.
